It was a big week for the Bitcoin community! As seen above, a new method of unifying the OG blockchain with computation was discovered, and they call it BitVM.

This has brought about much excitement for some and speculation for others. However, one of the biggest questions remains: how will this effect programmable blockchains?

Well, we certainly can’t tell the future, so you won’t find any concrete answers here. But if we had to guess, we’d say that Cardano and other serious blockchains shouldn’t be phased by this development at all. In fact, it’s something to be celebrated!

Regardless, we have our eyes peeled to see which direction BitVM takes the blockchain and its ardent supporters. Will this cause division, just like the introduction of ordinals? Or will it bring about unity? Time will tell. ⏳
