So, while SNEK climbs the meme charts, Cardano's efficient tech underpins its success.

This week, we had two major events happen in the blockchain-world at large:

  • The XRP token itself was deemed not to be a security in the SEC vs. Ripple Labs case

  • For the first time in history, a US presidential candidate plans to back USD-debt issuance with Bitcoin

Now you might be thinking, “Why is the Ripple/XRP case important to me? I’m here because I care about Cardano!”

Well, this particular decision has to do with everyone involved in the space. For the first time in history, the US government has given some clarity surrounding a fungible, digital asset.

Since the US’ position in the global world of finance is quite important, this is absolutely huge. It also has implications regarding Cardano’s current battle with the SEC.

Now, let’s keep in mind: we’re not out of the fire yet.

This ruling will most likely be challenged and could possibly be overturned. However, this will take some time, and it doesn’t change the fact that a US judge has finally given some clarity on these matters.

The other big news this week was presidential candidate RFK announcing his plans to back part of the US dollar’s supply with Bitcoin.

Yes, this is more of a performative act than anything. Love him or hate him, RFK has a steep mountain to climb to actually becoming POTUS.

Still, how cool is it to see someone running for arguably the most powerful position in the world saying these things?
